Welcome.
Devcode.us is a space for me to rant, rave and decompress. I have been developing systems and writing code for a fair amount of my life. My first programs were written on a TRS-80 or trash-80 so I have been at this a while. One reason I started this is that I want to share some of my experiences/frustrations/challenges with web development. In my day job I get to work in a challenging environment and deal with the full web stack. Front end, back end, db admin, devops, sysops… these are a few of the hats I get to wear. Over my web development career I have been able to find incredible resources on the internet. This is partly an attempt to give back in some small way.
Another reason is having a place to put bits of accumulated knowledge/wisdom/stupidity in a searchable format. I sometimes just need to find that url or piece of code that now I cannot seem to locate. Having a place to document how I setup a LEMP stack on a new server or how did I setup that custom module in Magento will give me peace of mind. PHP, Magento, Ubuntu, nginx, WordPress, Git, Guthub, deployments, build servers… these are a few of the topics I hope to cover.
Thanks for reading.
